Christopher Nolan again mesmerises us with his talent for a deviating timeline. Although the story of Dunkirk switched between different moments through the narrative, it still feels engaging and continuous.

Whilst the acting within Dunkirk is restrained at points, Mark Rylance and rising star Jack Lowden are phenomenal. Tom Hardy delivers a stoic performance as a fighter pilot who lifts the narrative in moments of desperation.

Christopher Nolan has forged an excellent partnership with cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema. The beauty that Hoytema can capture behind the lens matched with the inspiring and innovative directing methods of Christopher Nolan created a truly stunning film that gave justice to the truth of the actual event during World War II.
